CHOOSING THE BEST STRAPPING FOR YOUR NEEDS

Did you know more than 50% of load damage is due to incorrect containment?

To avoid load damage, it is crucial to ensure that the strapping used is sufficient strength to secure a load and that the straps are sealed together correctly. Strapping is only as strong as its join, so if the seal at the join is weak, the strapping will break apart.

Strapping is available in many sizes and materials to suit different load types. The most common strapping types include metal or steel strapping, polyester strapping, polypropylene or poly strapping and poly woven strapping. Strapping is also referred to as 'banding' or 'lashing'. We manufacture a large range of strapping and tying products to suit all applications. As a leading Australian shipping and packing solution manufacturer, Omni Group also manufactures heavy-duty strapping for large and high volume loads.

STRAPPING MATERIALS AND TYPES

Steel Strapping

The Omni Steel Strapping is available in a range of widths and thicknesses to suit your needs. Ideal for heavy-duty applications, steel is a common and economical strapping method. To ensure the best performance of steel strapping materials, we also stock a full range of the relevant equipment and accessories, including steel strapping seals, manual hand strapping tools, and strapping dispensers.

Ribbon wound steel strapping comes in a smaller coil than rope wound coils, making easier to handle. This strapping is ideal for hand help applications as the rolls weights are about 11kg compare rope wound steel strapping that is about 45kg.

Rope wound steel strapping is supplied in a continuous spool and is used for high volumes. With an approximate weight per roll of 45kgs a trolley dispenser is required to move these rolls.

Poly Strapping

Polyester Strapping, also known as PET Strapping, is used for heavy duty applications and is an economical and safe alternative to steel strapping. With limited elongation capacity and high tensile strength, polyester strapping is used for strapping heavy loads including bricks, timber and tiles. It can be used for both manual (hand) and machine application. As well as an extensive range of poly strapping, we also stock all the required accessories and poly strapping dispensers required to get the job done.

Hand Grade Poly Strapping is used for manual applications and comes in a dispenser box for convenience and ease of use. This strapping is available in different grades and thickness to suit a variety of applications. This strapping is tightened with a tensioner to get the strap secure then joined together with a seal clip and crimp to hold the strapping in place and tight.

Machine grade Poly Strapping suitable to be used on a semi-automatic, auto and fully automatic strapping machine. In automated strapping systems, the strapping machine straps the band around the carton or product being strapped, tensions the strap tight and seals it by heat or friction weld. The entire process is fully automated for a fast and efficient production line.

Other strapping types

Polywoven strapping is designed to protect your employees and customer from injuries while providing maximum load containment strength. This high tensile material-feel strapping is a popular alternative to steel strapping as it has no sharp edges and it does not spring back like steel. Polywoven strapping is rust proof and reusable, making it a popular strapping method.

Composite strapping is a high tensile UV coated fibre that has tensile strength similiar or higher to that of steel strapping and is designed to protect your employees from injuries while providing maximum load containment strength. There are no sharp edges when cut, and, like polywoven strapping, it does not spring back like steel strapping. This quality product offers protection for employees, customers and machinery, and is a cost effective alternative to steel strapping.

Strapping tools

The PET Sealless Strapping Tool is perfect for securing PET strapping and loads. Designed for easy use where hot friction melt is applied, powered by battery.

Our Ergonomic strapping threader is ideal for helping to secure strapping for pallet loads. The fiberglass flexible rod is attached to a nylon strap holding head, allowing the user to slide over pallet bearers for easy threading. Designed for ease of use, high impact and convenience. This ergonomic strapping threader replaces the household broom stick that is often used for this task.
